Obituary - Phyllis Ann Morrison Anderson

ANDERSON - Phyllis Ann Morrison died peacefully at her home in Hauppauge, NY, on August 22, 2014.  She was born in Washington, PA, to Mildred and Boone Morrison. She graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education.  On July 16, 1966, she married Charles L. Anderson and they celebrated 31 years together before his death in 1997.  She was active in various roles in the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown, the Smithtown Branch of AAUW, and numerous book clubs.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  She is survived by her daughter Kristen and son-in-law Raymond Epp of Wading River, and son Brian and daughter-in-law Angi, currently stationed in Okinawa with the U.S. Marine Corps; grandchildren Matthew, Natalie, and Erik Epp, Charles and Samuel Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy and David Samson and Curtis and Martha Kerns; sisters-in-law Kay Wisniewski and Rita and Joe Petroff; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at Fives Funeral Home in Smithtown.  A celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown on Wednesday, August 27, at 1 p.m.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown, AAUW Smithtown Branch Educational Fund, or Toys for Tots.
