KP Students Recognized At Emerging Leader Competition

Kings Park High School Business Students Awarded at Young Professional Emerging Leader Competition

On November 29th at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, over 200 students competed at the Huntington Chamber’s Young Professionals Business Leadership Competition. The Kings Park High School’s DECA: Business Club was very successful at the competition. For a period of two weeks, the Business students created marketing plans for real life scenarios in the Town of Huntington. Charles Speciale, a junior, said “teenagers in ill-fitting suits and big ideas, what’s not to love!” Ryan Adell, a senior DECA Club President, has won for 4 years first place in his category of Job Interviews. Samuel Daly, a junior Business Club President, for two years in a row has won third place in his category Sports Marketing. Samuel created a marketing strategy for dance academy in Huntington that included packages and Website advertising. Ryan Cudahy, a senior, said “It was the perfect combination of fun and competition.”
Additional students that placed were Club Officers Taylor Eggert and Alyssa Brojer who won third place in their category Travel and Tourism. They created a marketing strategy for the new Northport Hotel.
