The Knox School's Crew Team Heading To Nationals

The Knox School’s Crew Team Qualifies for Nationals!

This past weekend, The Knox School Crew team competed at the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship in Saratoga Springs, New York.  Each spring, more than 70 New York State high schools come together to put a season’s worth of hard work and training to the test  and compete for the state championship title.

This year proved to be Knox’s strongest year on the water! For the first time in the School’s history, two boats qualified for the “A” final. The girls’ varsity pair and boys’ junior double both competed against the top boats in their respective category in the state. The boys’ varsity four also had their best states finish to date, edging out multiple crews to finish 26th in the state. We are very proud of all crews who raced and represented The Knox School at the State Championship.

Top crews are invited to compete alongside the best scholastic crews in the country on a national platform, and this year, Mateja Markovic and Hieu Biu will represent The Knox School in the boys’ junior double category. This is the first invitation The Knox School has received to compete at this level of competition. Our boys have worked hard all year for this and there is no better way to culminate a season than representing your school at a national level.

This Memorial Day weekend, over 200 high school crews from around the country will head to Cherry Hill, NJ to compete for the national championship title.  We wish our boys the very best of luck. Go Falcons!
