KPSD Gets Fueled Up With New Pumps

Kings Park CSD Cuts Ribbon for New Fuel Pumps

Center of Picture (left to right): Mr. Rich Lasnier, CSEA Local President; Mr. Steve Lee, Transportation Supervisor; and Dr. Timothy Eagen, Superintendent of SchoolsOn January 27, 2017, the Kings Park Central School District cut the red ribbon to officially open their new fuel pumps at their bus garage.  This work was funded through the school district’s bond project.    Mr. Rich Lasnier, CSEA Local President; Mr. Steve Lee, Transportation Supervisor; and Dr. Timothy Eagen, Superintendent of Schools were joined by several CSEA members for the ribbon cutting ceremony.  According to Dr. Eagen, “The old pumps were outdated and in disrepair.  Our fuel levels were measured manually and fuel accountability was an issue.  The new pumps are now monitored electronically with sensors, and fuel usage can be electronically tracked and reconciled.  Individual pin codes ensure that fuel usage is associated with a particular employee and vehicle.”  Mr. Lasnier and Mr. Lee expressed appreciation and thanks to the Town of Smithtown Highway Department and Mr. Robert Murphy for allowing the district to fuel up at a town facility for the past few months.  “Without the help of the Town of Smithtown, we could have never made this important upgrade,” added Dr. Eagen.  “We are very grateful for their assistance and support.”
