Pedestrian Injured In Hit-And-Run In Medford


Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Medford this morning.

Sixth Precinct police officers responded to Norfleet Lane at approximately 5:50 a.m. after a 911 caller reported an injured female lying in the road. It was determined that the woman, Olivia Thornton, was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored pickup truck. 

Thornton, 30, who is homeless, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
