SC Police Arrest Man For Using Stolen Credit Cards


Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for using stolen credit cards.Stanley Roney, was arrested for using stolen credit cards and charged with eight counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, 16 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and 10 counts of Identity Theft 2nd Degree.

Second Squad detectives, along with Fifth Squad detectives and Sixth Squad detectives, have been investigating more than a dozen cases of credit cards stolen from vehicles, several of which were located in gym parking lots. Some of the stolen credit cards were used to purchase gift cards, Apple watches and other items.  An investigation by Second, Fifth and Sixth squads identified the suspect as Stanley Roney.

Roney, 37, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with eight counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, 16 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree and 10 counts of Identity Theft 2nd Degree.

Roney will be held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 12.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
