Habitat of Suffolk Seeks AmeriCorps Construction Crew Members
Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk is looking to fill AmeriCorps construction crew positions to assist with home builds throughout the County. Habitat, in partnership with AmeriCorps members, hopes to reach its goal of completing 12 new home builds. Habitat also anticipates to host at least two community events and will utilize members to spread the word about homeownership programs and encourage community members to get involved as volunteers on worksites or to apply to be family partners.
AmeriCorps members will gain valuable leadership skills, as well as career and life skills that translate directly into job experience. Full-time members will receive multiple benefits including a living allowance, health insurance, job training, and personal and professional growth opportunities. In addition, those who complete their service are eligible to earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay for college, graduate school or to pay back qualified student loans.
